Hey everyone.
I have created my wiki for assignment two.
The address is
https://ashleighdomio.wikispaces.com/
I believe that the main difference between blogs and wikis is that others can contribute to your wiki. Any reader can adjust an incomplete or poorly organised page as the content of the site is open to editing by others.
A quote from the CQU moodle site that I believe is important is that of trust:
"This is the most important thing in a wiki. Trust the people, trust the process, enable trust-building. Everyone controls and checks the content. Wiki relies on the assumption that most readers have good intentions."
I think people have to accept that what they do is not always perfect and trust that others are trying to help them and improve their work.
Wikis are also a great chance to share information with other people and help peers to expand their knowledge. Whereas blogs just allow others to comment on posted blogs rather then improve them.
As a Learning Manager, wikis could be a space to place resources and information of learning tools for other learning managers. If teachers were to frequently update and contribute to a wiki space whenever they find a valuable new tool, then the resources available wold be unlimited and could significantly enhance teaching skills.
